CEBU, Philippines — The Stopgap Sealants and Tofil Finishing ousted their respective rivals to advance into the semifinal round of the Architects+Engineers Basketball’s Buildrite Cup at the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) Gym.
Stopgap leaned on a well-balanced attack to terminate Sapal Sealant and Waterproofer in decisive fashion, 66-43.
Dexy Suico spearheaded Stopgap’s hot charge with 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Lawrence Gayotin and Nikko Punay each scored nine, while Richie Bactol, Gerald Jayme, and James Bolos combined for 21 points to help carry Stopgap to the Final Four.
In other result, Kim Rojas led four players in double figures with 19 points, five rebounds, five steals, and two assists as Tofil booted out Floortek, 69-59.
Arnel Cordero banged in 16 points, nine boards, and three dimes, Neil Tiempo added 12 markers, three rebounds, and four assists, while Christopher Gayotin contributed 10 points, five rebounds, and seven assists for Tofil.
