CEBU, Philippines — The aspiring Cebuano ballers who want to further sharpen their skills have a chance to do so through the Sunsport Advanced Skills Training Program slated two months from now.

Set for November 2-4 at the Sunsport Basketball Training Center situated along the North Road National Highway at the corner of barangays Basak and Canduman in Mandaue City, the three-day clinic will be conducted by esteemed skills trainer and coach Jeff Codera.

The 40-year-old Codera is a member of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors training camp.  He is also licensed Gold coach of USA Basketball under its Youth Development Program.

Codera is currently the basketball head coach and sports consultant of the municipality of San Remigio in northern Cebu and head athletic trainer of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI).

Codera will be assisted by Sunsport’s longtime training director Giovanni “Jojo” Romarate-Teves in running the intensive training camp, which is open to fully vaccinated players aged 13 years old and above.

Considered as “Man of a million drills”, Codera will be teaching the participants using Sunsport’s Heavy Training Ball that will help enhance their dribbling skills, improve their shooting accuracy, and increase their hand speed and endurance in dribbling.

He will also tackle the fundamentals of pivot, safety movements, basic footwork, shifting momentum to the opposite direction, passing, shooting with proper form, defensive movements, offensive rotation, and conditioning techniques among other significant drills.

Since slots are limited, those who are interested to join are advised to register early starting on October 2. For more information, one may call 345-1015.
