CEBU, Philippines — The Carampatana Food Corp. Batch 2012 and Cebu Landmasters Batch 2003 finished off their rivals in separate sudden-death games to emerge as division champions in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 25 over the weekend at the Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Batch 2012 turned to the endgame heroics of Rev-Rev Diputado to frustrate Asian Orthopedics Batch 2014, 74-70, in the decider of their best-of-three finals to clinch the Division C title.

Diputado unloaded 22 points capped by a crucial layup off a nifty assist by Dave Wilson Yu in the final nine seconds that sealed the deal for Batch 2012.

Diputado, who also had five rebounds, four assists and two steals, was heavily backed up by Yu and Julius Cadavis with 14 points apiece and Mavii Suarez with 13 markers.

Lucky Ecarma and Zach Huang combined for 42 points but their efforts went down the drain as Batch 2014 just settled for the first-runner trophy after completing an eight-game sweep in the elimination round.

On the other hand, Daryle Tan sizzled with 21 points, Justin Ross Huang scored 16, and Moncrief Rogado added 13 points as Batch 2003 upended Suprea Ready Mixed Concrete Batch 2011, 72-66, in the rubber match of their race-to-2 series to seize the Division B crown.

Kiefer Lim dished out 20 points while Franz Pacheco tallied 15 markers but to no avail for Batch 2011.

In the other result, Sergs Al Gobui posted 14 points as Xchange Forex Batch 2000 drew first blood against Magis Medical Fund Batch 1997, 57-50, in their best-of-three Division A championship.

Meanwhile, SHAABAA will honor its 25 greatest players of all time tonight in a fitting homage to exceptional talents and transcendent players as part of its milestone season.

Set to be recognized are Frederick Tan, Theogene Lim, Dave Lim, Dennis Que, Chad Canares, Shean Barte, Walter Ong, Joel Co, Jeremy Huang, Dave Ting, Leigh Dixon, Eldie Cabahug, Justin Huang, Franco Te,  Daryle Tan, Bradley Bacaltos, Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw, Ed Macasling, Fletcher Galvez, Junie Alejandro, Kylle Valmoria, Robert Gilo, Antonio Datan, Erwin Lopena, and Lucky Ecarma.
