CEBU, Philippines — After Janjan Auditor of the Sykes Pioneers, it’s the turn of Aristotle Alcos to carve his own niche in the annals of E-Leagues.
Alcos exploded for 49 points to power the Executive Boutique/Select Voicecom Bulldogs past the Dyninno Jets, 89-85, in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
It was the most points scored by any player in the EVO League.
Alcos’ feat came just a day after Auditor established a record for the most points scored in a single game in the Elite Classic after bombarding 52 points in the Pioneers’ merciless 153-48 shellacking of the ePerformax Reds.
Alcos also passed out 10 assists and pulled down seven rebounds as the Bulldogs roared to their sixth straight victory and eighth overall in 11 games to leap into fourth place in the standings.
Yvesse Suan and Ignatius Loyola also figured prominently for the Bulldogs with 27 combined points laced with 22 rebounds, eight assists and six steals.
King Luigi Olbes tallied 21 markers while Rusty Salas and Oscar Villamor connived for 31 points but to no avail as the Jets dropped to 5-5.
On other hand, the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs kept their hold of the EVO League lead with a 9-1 record after edging the Kyocera Frontiers, 83-81.
Joey Lucky Juntilla paced the Flying Lemurs with 17 points followed by Ronald Macua with 10.
Ariel Edera scattered a game-high 25 points, while Matthew Grafilo and Junrey Cabarrubias notched 28 points in between them but their efforts went in vain as the Frontiers suffered their second loss in nine starts.
In the other EVO League results, the Optum Knights downed the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, 73-66, the Amazon Aces prolonged the agony of the listless CTC-BPO Panthers, 57-39, while the Medspecialized prevailed over Shearwater, 67-60.
In the Elite Classic,Fusion BPO Services (7-4) whipped Teleperformance (7-5), 93-69, while Concentrix overcame QBE, 62-59. (FREEMAN)
