High five for Flying Lemurs in E-Leagues
CEBU, Philippines — The Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs banked on a balanced attack to crush the Dynata Warriors, 69-47, and stay perfect in the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 over the weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Roberto Castro tallied 13 markers, Joey Lucky Juntilla submitted a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists, while Ronald Macua scored 10 as the Flying Lemurs tightened their grip of the EVO League lead with a clean 5-0 slate.
Tommy Spencer Ugsimar chalked up a game-high 21 points but to no avail as the Warriors suffered their second loss in six starts.
On the other hand, the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties needed an extra five-minute period before handing the Kyocera Frontiers their first loss of the season via an 81-79 Cliffhanger.
Steven Cabanday had 13 points while Jan Ausan tossed in 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks for the Tech Mighties who improved their record to 5-1.
Ariel Ramonito Edera scattered 34 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists while Matthew Grafilo dropped 23 points but they both went home on a pensive mood as the Frontiers saw their four-game win streak come to a sudden red stop.
In the other EVO League match, the Executive Boutique/Select Voicecom Bulldogs rebounded from a previous setback with an 85-70 drubbing of the Medspecialized Unicorns.
Aristotle Alcos churned out 27 points, seven assists, three rebounds and three steals as the Bulldogs evened their record to 3-3.
The Unicorns slipped to 2-4 despite drawing double figures from Alfie Cabriana, Randolph Manuel Santiago, Ivan Rommel Yu and Marvin Agruda.
Not to be outdone, Clark Navaja posted 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals as the Amazon Aces escaped past the Demand Science Paladins, 69-66, to remain at solo third place with a 5-2 card.
The rest of the results saw Optum (4-1) edging Shearwater (2-4), 74-64, Iploy (2-4) pulling off a 66-65 squeaker over the CTC-BPO (0-4), and Author Solutions Philippines Inc. (3-3) whipping Cognizant (1-4), 60-46. - EBV
