CUCC rules Cinco de Mayo mountain race
CEBU, Philippines — Team Cebu United Cycling Club (CUCC) ruled the inaugural edition of the Cinco de Mayo Three-Man-Team Mountain Bike Race the other day at the HK Resort in Basdako, Moalboal town south of Cebu.
The trio of Jhon Philip Padaong, Johanes Pinosa and Joel Lambating of Team CUCC completed the lung-busting 90-kilometer battle from Plaza Margarita in Minglanilla to Basdako, Moalboal with the fastest time of two hours and 52 minutes.
It was a double celebration for Team CUCC as it also bagged the King of the Mountain award.
The Cowboys Grill 1 manned by Ramil Bayno, Rey Bacus and Hilbert Gorgod finished second with a time of 2:55 while Team AMTA composed of John Arven Canares, Neil Joseph Gorre and Aladin Sedentario wound up third with a 2:57 clocking.
Cowboys Grill 2 of Alven Bastismo, Joshua Gimena and Martin Junior Tambien (3:02) and Team Amta 2 of Orville John, Darwin Jamodia and Loreto Sampuang (3:07) occupied the fourth and fifth place, respectively.
