CEBU, Philippines — People from all walks of life who want to chisel out a stronger, fitter and healthier version of themselves will have a perfect outlet to achieve such goal with the staging of the Medicard Hyt Metabolic Fitness Boot Camp by Coach A scheduled to be held from April 9 to June 1 at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.

“The longest running boot camp in the country is back for another 22 days of lung-busting workout,” said camp director Alan G. Choachuy in a press conference yesterday at Cebu Country Club. “We are now on our eighth year and a promise is a promise, to make this year’s summer boot camp extra special by partnering with Medicard, the country’s leading health maintenance organization.”

“We at Medicard work with the best fitness coaches in Cebu as we try to continue our advocacy for a healthy lifestyle,” said Medicard representative Marie Kristine Jainar.

Day one will be alloted for fitness tests and assessments of all participants. They will then be classified into newbies, intermediate, advance and elite.

The training session will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6-8 pm), and on Saturdays (6-8 am).

Choachuy said their program includes seven weeks of Coach A’s Biggest Loser workout. There will be water and hydration during the entire duration of the camp.

Aside from getting valuable nutrition tips, the participants will also have a chance to challenge themselves in the camp’s newest Saturday workout, engage in a new training regimen such as fencing from a former member of the Philippine team, and try Krav Maga, a military self-defense and fighting system.

Choachuy assured the campers that they will experience a different workout every session and that they will deal with a new group of fitness coaches that will make each workout easier for them.

A limited edition jersey will be given away to the first 100 registants, while all finishers will receive specially-designed medals.

Enrollment is now going on at the ground floor of Ayala Center Cebu near Cotton, from 10 am to 7 pm. The early bird registration is at P2,800 until April 2 only, while the regular rate is pegged at P3,500.
