CEBU, Philippines — The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers and the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors knocked out their respective rivals to set up a championship showdown in the City of Naga Inter-Collegiate Basketball League on Sunday night at the Enan Chiong Activity Center.

RR Cauba erupted for 29 points as the Panthers outfoxed the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 75-69, while Kurt Trangia sizzled with 23 points as the Warriors terminated the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 93-77.

Karl Langahin, Rich Managor, Edwin Villarta and Graggy Sarahina also figured prominently, combining for a total of 34 points for the Panthers, who firmly held on their ground after taking a 42-30 lead at halftime.

Like Cauba, Trangia also got huge support  from his USC comrades.

Jules Langres banged in 15 points, while Roosevelt Jelianggao and Froilan Mangubat each scored 14 for the Warriors, who were in full control since posting a 47-30 advantage at the break.

USPF and USC will dispute the title in a winner-take-all affair on March 17, with the winner taking home P100,000 in cash prize.
