Glorietta Lariosa - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — In line with its 70th anniversary celebration, the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes, Inc. (CFHI) will be spearheading a charity race billed as “Run For Your Loved Ones” on July 29 starting at the Cebu IT Park and ending at the Plaza Independencia.

The five-kilometer run features the 25-below and 30-above age groups, while an open category is available for aged 26-29 years old.

“This is something that we are doing for our 70th year in Cosmopolitan. We dedicate this to those that have passed on,” said CFHI’s Vice President for Business Development Cathleen Newnette Dychangco Anzani. “For Cosmo, it’s a unique race because other than dedicating this to your loved ones, we have also special surprises on board.”

One of the beneficiaries of the fund-raising event is the homeless community of Cebu. Cosmo has also done various community services such as feeding programs, mangrove planting, and barangay cleaning among others all over the country.

The organizers are targeting around 700 participants, and they are hoping to make the race an annual event not just for sports but as also part of their advocacy in wellness.

Cash prizes and medals will be given away to the winners. The champion in each category will pocket P5,000, while the second  to fifth placers will receive P4,000, P3,000, P1,000, and 500, respectively.

On the other hand, all participants will get freebies from sponsors and earn exciting prizes during the raffle draw.

Entry fee is pegged at P350 inclusive of a singlet, race bib and breakfast.

One may register at any branches of Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes, Runnr Store in Ayala, Tobby’s Sports in SM, and Anzani Restaurant.
