Consolacion MTB Duathlon 2.0 set
CEBU, Philippines — Buoyed by the overwhelming success of its maiden event, the municipality of Consolacion will be staging another edition of an off-road duathlon action that is expected to be bigger and more exciting on March 18.
Just like last year, the participants of the Consolacion Mountain Bike Duathlon 2.0 will first deal with a five-kilometer followed by a 20km bike, then finish off with a 3km run.
The race is a good tuneup for those who will be seeing action in Xterra Asia-Pacific Championships on April 22 in Danao City.
The Consolacion race features the individual and relay categories. The individual battle is divided into different age-groups plus the elite class.
Entry fee for the early birds or those who will register on or before February 1 is pegged at P799 for the individual and P1,399 for the relay event.
The regular rate is set at P1,000 for the individual and P1,600 for relay entries.
The organizers led by Cebuano sportsman and fitness ambassador Alan G. Choachuy are limiting the slots to only 300 to ensure the smooth flow of competition.
Aside from medals and souvenir shirts, cash prizes will be also given away to the winners in the elite division. The top age-groupers will receive trophies or medals.
Special awards will also be handed out to the biggest contingent, fastest 5km runner, coolest runner, and the fastest male and female age-grouper.
