CEBU, Philippines - Some of the country's top-ranked netters will test each other's mettle here in the Queen City of the City through the Palawan Pawnshop Open Tennis Championships-Dagitab Festival edition, which will kick off today at the Naga Tennis Club.

Philippines No.1 player Patrick John Tierro and his second in command Johnny Arcilla banner the list of strong title contenders in the all-men's battle.

Others to watch out for in the 32-man main draw are the likes of Onyok Anasta, Rolando Ruel, Leander Lazaro, and Ronard Joven.

Aside from the singles, there will also be a doubles event.

Meanwhile, Tiffaty Nocus and Elizabeth Abarquez led the winners' cast of the age-group tournament organized by Palawan Pawnshop as part of Naga's Dagitab Festival.

Nocus claimed the unisex 10-under and girls 12-under titles, while Abarquez snared the girls 14 and 16-under crowns. (FREEMAN)
