Jumamil leads cast of contenders in inaugural TRI Liloan
CEBU, Philippines - Paul Jumamil of Alaska Tri Aspire leads the cast of top contenders in the inaugural TRI Liloan this Sunday.
Jumamil, who ruled back-to-back races in a week's time via the San Remigio 8080 and the 5i50 Triathlon in Bohol, will be competing in the 24-under category against with six other entries.
More than the top spot of his age-group though, Jumamil is expected to dominate the overall standings.
Expected to give Jumamil a tough challenge for the overall supremacy are fellow Boholano Emmanuel Comendador, Jory Ycong, Omega Pro's Welmar Saavedra, Parklane's Ralph Arche, and Ford Forza's Joseph Miller.
In the distaff side, the top triathlete to watch is Cianyl Jamae Gonzalez of Parklane Tri Team.
Gonzalez is a lone confirmed entry in the female 29-under right now and the challenge for her is to finish first among all female participants.
Louie Villacin is said to be opting out to do the relay, giving Gonzalez one strong opponent out.
Aside from Villacin's squad, JPD Coaching teams led by Philip Duenas and Mary Joy Tabal are also a force to reckon. The other entries in the relay competition are Volvo Tri Team led by seasoned cyclist Jaybop Pagnanawon, Keith Ashley Ocampo's Tri Liloan-3, Noel Tillor's Three of ME, and Joland Olmilla's Infinitea Tri Team-1. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN)
