CESAFI All-Stars showdown today

CEBU, Philippines - All roads lead to the Cebu Coliseum today as the biggest and brightest hardcourt warriors of the 15th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. basketball season collide for the annual CESAFI All-Stars showdown at the Cebu Coliseum.

In between games that will start with the high school battle at 1 p.m., exciting side events will be featured including the Slam Dunk contest and the 3-point shootout.

VIVA stars in YouTube sensation Donnalyn Bartolome and master rapper Sheyee will also be on hand to entertain the fans with special production numbers right before the collegiate match-up.

Vying for the Slam Dunk crown are Kino Bajamunde of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers, Garciano Puerto of the University of Cebu Webmasters, Miguel Gastador of the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars, Charles Pepito and Dolan Adlawan of the University of San Carlos Warriors, and Leonard Santillan and Rey Suerte of the University of the Visayas Green Lancers.

Shooting it out for the ‘3-point King’ title are Bridirick Brigoli and Jeffrey Taghoy of the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats, Karl Langahin of USPF, Melvin Butohan of the University of Cebu Webmasters, Mark Labares and Ralph Dinolan of USJ-R, Kevin Oleodo and Nico Magat of USC, Josue Segumpan, Jerome Napao and Kent Manzo of UV, and Jovanie Luz, Mark Jayven Tallo, Anton Pardo and Melvin Holper of the Southwestern University Cobras.

In the All-Star spectacle, suiting up for the East team of coach Bong Pineda are Joshua Laurente, Neon Chavez, Jhlo Pakanna, Alje Mendez, and Briedyn Smith of USC, John Kirck Gonzaga, Joshua Ortiz, Arnold Ando and Jude Teleron of USJ-R, Jancork Cabahug, Ramish Alforque, Michael Membrano, Beirn Laurente, and Paul Amistoso of UV, and James Trempra of the Cebu Eastern College Dragons.

They will go up against the West side composed of Travis Mantua, Wayne Bersaluna, Jed Colonia, Andrew Velasco, Eroll Pastor and Phil Calumpang of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, Froilan Mangubat, Jason Abejo, Luigi Gabisan, John Cuyos and Gelmart Umpad of UC, Allen Oberino and Harvelle Pelig of USPF, and Jasper Berezo and Marion Abinuman of CIT-U. They will be mentored by Roel Rasmo.

 In the collegiate division, Steve Cedrick Akomo leads Team East of coach Gary Cortes that also includes his UV teammates  Alfred Codilla, June Kent Manzo, Franz Arong, Leonard Santillan, Alvin Aguirre and Arvie Cabanero, Mark Tallo, Jesse Bautista, Jovanie Luz, Melvin Holper and Michael Auditor of SWU, and Brantford Borces, Winston Bolivar and Kini Bajamunde of USPF.

The West squad of coach Britt Reroma will be bannered by Shooster Olago, Charles Pepito, Victor Rabat, Keifir Lim, Ian Tagapan, Nico Magat and Ian Ortega of USC, Ralph Dinolan, Mark Labares, and Kevin Villafranca of USJ-R, Joshua de la Cerna, Allan Dimco, and Jose Puerto of CIT-U and Melvin Butohan and Garciano Puerto of UC.
