Engineers' bootfest slated Oct.17-18

CEBU, Philippines - It’s all systems go for the fifth Engineers' Football League on October 17-18 at the San Roque field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

A total of 12 categories will be contested in the two-day tilt. These are the players 8 and 10, boys 12, 14 and 17, while the adult will have the men’s 35, men’s open division A and B, men’s 40 plus and inter-BPO.

In the girls side, booters will compete in the under-17 and ladies open.

Nilo Ferraren, the man behind the event, has decided to split the men's division to have a balance and more exciting competition.

The men's division A will be open to foreign booters, United Football League players and members of the Philippine Azkals. The top four teams of the last Aboitiz Football Cup will also see action in the said category. The division B will be an all-local lineup.

Cash prizes and trophies are at stake for the top performers in the men's division, while winners in the female and age-groups will receive medals and trophies.— Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN)
