Yaw-Yan celebrates 43rd founding anniversary this pm

CEBU, Philippines - The Yaw-Yan ArDigma Martial Arts Federation, Inc. will celebrate its 43rd founding anniversary with another night of fun and fellowship at the Yaw-Yan Ardigma Headquarters along Sanciangko Street, this city.

Tonight’s gathering will also serves as a victory party for the young members of Yaw-Yan Ardigma who comprises Team Cebu City which became the overall champion of the Muay Thai event of the recent Batang Pinoy National Championships last month in Bulacan.

“We have showed that aside from our professional fighters, we have also produced young and promising kick boxers and it was evident during our campaign in the Batang Pinoy,” said Yaw-Yan Cebu ArDigma founder and Vis-Min director Master Benigno “Ekin” R. Caniga, Jr.

Aside from the get-together of the new and old members of Yaw-Yan, the other highlight of the event is the traditional baptismal rites.

Yaw-Yan was first recognized in 1972 in Sta. Cruz, Manila by Grandmaster Fernandez, the originator of what is considered as the deadliest form of martial arts in the archipelago.— Lemuel P. Maglinte (FREEMAN)
