University of Cebu table paddlers compete in Malaysia
CEBU, Philippines – After dominating local and national tournaments with authority, the University of Cebu table paddlers bring their acts to a higher level as they compete in table tennis event of the 10th Universiti Teknologi Mar (UiTM) International Sports Fiesta in Malaysia today.
UC athletic director Bernard Ricablanca said this is the first time that they are participating in the annual tilt, which is by invitation only.
The UC squad is composed of the tried and tested Dannel Jay Tormis, Val Stephen Jaca, Lemuel Agbon, Herby Vince Betarmos, Fausto Zeus Comaingking and David Samuel Maneja in the men's side.
The Webmasters will be bannered by Lezlie Agbon, Athena Comaingking, Diana Oliverio, Jerny Kaye Pepito, and Jeramae Saromines in the women's class.
The team is coached by Jessica Honoridez assisted by former top collegiate player Jennifer Jacalan.
The format of the team competition will have the men's singles first followed by the women's singles, then men's doubles and women's doubles.
The final action will be the mixed doubles. (FREEMAN)
