SHS-AdC booters score twinkill in CIS Friendship Cup 2015

CEBU, Philippines – The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles booters captured two titles in Day 1 of the Cebu International School:Friendship Cup 2015 Football Festival yesterday at the CIS football field in Barangay Pit-os, this city.

Magis Eagles bagged the boys under-18 and girls under-class division titles.

SHS-AdC downed host team CIS Dragons, 1-0 in the finals to snare the crown. JM Kwan, who was hailed as MVP, scored in the 18th minute to deliver his team to victory. They finished the group stage with seven points while CIS came out the top on the group stage with seven points also but accumulated the higher goal difference.

In the girls under-19, SHS-AdC-B defeated their Team A to dominate the division through goal difference.

Magis Eagles Team B edged Team A after finishing the tournament with 14 points with 13 goals nailed while Team A scored also 14 but only made six goals. The technical officials used league-type format in the division to determine the winning squad.

Meanwhile, Warshocks FC and Consolacion FC dominated the under-13 boys and under-9 class.

Warshocks annihilated Consolacion FC, 4-0, to reigned supreme in their division. Dave Cabucos was named MVP.

For their part, Consolacion FC outsmarted Saint Augustine International School (SAIS), 2-1, for the crown. Revilson Penserga snatched the MVP trophy.

Three titles are up for grabs in the finale today that include the men's, women's and inter-company divisions. — (FREEMAN)
