Sinulog arnis tourney at CTU today
CEBU, Philippines - Over a hundred eskrimadors from all over the country are raring to showcase their skills as the 5th Sinulog Arnis Tournament kicks off today at the Cebu Technological University (CTU)-Main Campus along MJ Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City.
Presented by Doce Pares of Supreme Grandmaster Dionnie Cañete, ODL (Order of Datu Lapu-Lapu) in association with the Cebu Eskrima Group and CTU, the action-packed sparring competition promptly starts at 1 p.m.
The other highlight of the event is the demonstration of some top Grandmasters and Masters, who will be in attendance as they also have some players seeing action.
Mayor Butch Sepulveda of Borbon, an avid supporter and practitioner of eskrima being a member of Nickle Stick Balintawak, is expected to grace the affair.
The one-day tilt holds much weight as it serves as a qualifying event to select the member of the Philippine Team to the 14th World Championship slated next year. — EBV (FREEMAN)
