CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano veteran wrestler Luis Ansag will become the first Filipino who will compete in the mas-wrestling abroad after being invited to participate in an international event in Russia later this month.
Ansag is excited about the event especially after another wrestling tournament that he was suppose to compete abroad did not push through.
Ansag's track record in the national and international competitions gain him enough respect abroad that is why even if he is no longer young, he continues to represent the country abroad.
Ansag aims to win and learn more about this sport so he can also share it to the rest of the Pinoy wrestlers.
Mas-wrestling is considered as an ancient traditional sport that is very popular in Russia.
International Mas-Wrestling Federation described this sport as a unique form of strongman contest which demands great muscular strength from the hands, legs, back, and abdominals. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN)
