Lava flows with two golds in world tikefest

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Playing coach Glenn Lava proved that his victory last year was no fluke as he did not only defend his title, but also post a double gold for Team Philippines in the 9th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Lava won gilt in the men's team competition for 30 years old pomsae artists together with Ernesto Guzman and Jean Pierre Sabido. They are the same team that also bagged gold last year in Bali, Indonesia.

They beat the Chau Truong, Anh Nguyen and Justine Wang of the United States in the finals, while host Mexico’s Juan Enrique Luna, Juan Martinez and Oscar Mendiola Cruz grabbed the bronze medal.

Lava came up with another golden performance in the mixed team event alongside Jeordan Dominguez, Janice Lagman, Rani Ortega and Jaylord Seridon. (FREEMAN)
