Inter-School kiddies chessfest this weekend
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Chess Masters in association with Robinsons Cybergate and CEPCA (Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association) will stage the 1st Kiddies Inter-School Team Tournament on October 18-19 at the Cybergate.
Over P15,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top winners of the two-day tilt. Aside from trophies and medals, the champion will pocket P6,000, while the second and third placers will get P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.
The top three board players will also receive corresponding prizes - P800, P500 and P400 for Board 1, P700, P400 and P300 for Board 2, P600, P350, and P350 for Board 3, and P500, P300, and P200 for Board 4.
The top alternate and best female player will get P500 each.
On the second and final day, the participants will have a chance to further test their skills and mastery of this famous European boardgame against National Master Merben Roque.
