CEBU, Philippines – The Ormoc  Fighters have arrived. And they had an impressive debut with big wins at the Alaska Basketball D-League 2014 played at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Campus.

Ormoc’s Under 12 team racked up two wins in a row to take the lead in the Under 12 Division 2’s Group C, while Ormoc’s Under 15 Division 1 team went 1-1 over the weekend. The Ormoc Under 12 side won over Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT), 44-31, and SHS-Ateneo C, 84-31.

Meanwhile, the Ormoc U15 team defeated Don Bosco-A, 51-25, and pushed UV-B to the limit before bowing, 53-51. The Ormoc Fighters made the effort to play in the league with the goal of improving the level of play in their hometown. This is the second tournament that they joined after playing in the CYBL VisMin Goodwill Games last May. (FREEMAN)
