Cacoy Doce Pares grabs overall championship

CEBU, Philippines - Supreme Grand Master Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete will host an awarding ceremony this Saturday for his 40-man delegation that won the overall championship of the FMA Festival Cacoy Doce Pares World Eskrima Tournament at the City Sports Club Cebu.

Cacoy Doce Pares Headquarters bets reigned supreme with 22 golds, 13 silvers and 14 bronze medals.

Australian team coming from the International Combative Martial Arts Academy (ICMAA) led by Grandmaster Vince Palumbo from Adelaide, Australia won six golds, 3 silvers and 5 bronzes.

Another group of Australian team coming from the East Coast Doce Pares Institute of Grandmasters Craig Hayward collected 5-6-1 gold-silver-bronze medals.

Aside from host team Philippines and Australia, the week-long events were participated in by all FMA enthusiasts and participants from all over the world coming from United States, Canada, New Zealand and Mexico. (FREEMAN)
