CEBU, Philippines - A total of 125 entries from six countries across three continents are all set to showcase their fabulous sculpted physiques in the keenly-awaited 3rd Philippine-Asia 2014 International Bodybuilding Championships slated on August 8-9 at the Mariner's Court Convention Center.
As expected, Dennis Delgado of the organizing Workout Fitness Center said the biggest bulk of participants comes from host Philippines with 78.
Morocco, a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa, fields in the second largest contingent with 22 members followed by India with 15, New Zealand with six, and Indonesia and Malaysia with two apiece.
On the other hand, Delgado bared via e-mail that aside from reigning Mr. Universe Pro Marek Olejniczak of Germany, Sarah Malthus, the women's Europe champion, will also grace the event as guest poser.
Over P150,000 is up for grabs for the top performers of the two-day tilt. The categories to be contested are the men's physique, women's shape/bikini, women's figure, men's masters, mixed pair and athletic, Mr. Athletic open and novice open.
The men's overall champion will get a total of P110,000 worth of prizes that include P25,000 cash and P85,000 worth of roundtrip ticket to Germany for the NAC Universe.
The Mr. Physique titlist will receive the second biggest cash reward of P10,000 plus trophy and gift packs from sponsors, while the Miss Fitness will take home P6,000. The rest of the category winners will get P8,000 cash and exciting gift items.
Also, all class champions are qualified to compete in the NAC Universe in Germany at their own expense.
Entry fee is pegged at P2,000 inclusive of a welcome and victory dinner among other perks. Registration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 8 at the Workout Fitness Center-Capitol Branch.
The pre-judging proper will be done at 8 a.m. on August 9, while the final showdown is set at 4 p.m.
