CEBU, Philippines - After showing an impressive performance in Boston, Cebuana Mae Lozada with his partner Dennis Sy of Dumaguete will now try their luck in the Manhattan Dancesport Championships tonight at the Marriott Hotel in Brooklyn Bridge, New York.
Lozada and Sy will face stiff competition as they aim to collect honors in the National Dance Council of America-recognized event.
The former Dancesport-Team Cebu City member Lozada and Sy hopes to duplicate their successful outing in the recent 2014 Yankee Classic Dancesport Championship in Boston.
The multi-titled Lozada and Sy ranked third in all five dances including chachacha, samba, rumba, paso doble and jive during the final round.
After the professional battle, Lozada and Sy also competed in the World master's professional open international latin action.
In the world master's finals, Sy and Lozada ranked seventh in all five dances to come out seventh overall.
Aside from that, Lozada and Sy also got two bronzes in the Fred Astaire Cross-country Dance Championships in Atlanta, Georgia last April. (FREEMAN)
