CEBU, Philippines - Team Sky Logistics-Cebu Cycling collected several honors following a 1-2 finish in the 1st Saulog Invitational Road Bike Competition in Zamboanga del Norte.
The Cebu-based cycling team bested 18 other squads in the two day action.
Team Sky Logistics-Cebu composed of Miguel Flores, Art Lambo and James Kho dealt with over 140 kilometers from Dipolog to Guisokan and back on the first day where they came out second to hometown bets Team Octavio Sardines led by Mayor Roberto T. Uy.
But in the second day, the Cebuano pedal-pushers handled the 85-kilometer race from Dipolog to Rizal via Polo and made up for their loss in day one.
Mayor Uy's team placed second while Team Ramboo from Ozamis came out third in this event spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte.
With the success of the initial staging, Mayor Pinpin Uy promised to make the event bigger in the next edition.
Aside from cycling, Mayor Uy and their group also organized a triathlon competition prior to the two-day cycling event. (FREEMAN)
