Cebuanos Shine in US dancefest

CEBU, Philippines - Three Cebuano dance athletes showcased their wares with finesse to claim several honors in two separate events in the United States.

The tandem of Hannah Deluvio and Christopher Corro emerged as champion in the standard pre-championship amateur open in the Philadelphia Dancesport Championships.

Aside from that, Deluvio and Corro also grabbed a bronze in the latin pre-championship amateur open of the same event.

Another Cebuana in Mae Lozada also joined the said event along with Dennis Sy of Dumaguete City in the professional side, but missed a medal.

However Lozada and Sy bounced back through the Fred Astaire Cross Country Dance Championships in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend.

Lozada and Sy bagged two bronzes through the professional rhythm-closed division and in the open professional latin action.

Lozada, Deluvio and Corro used to compete under the wings of the decorated DanceSport-Team Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
