Surban to race anew in Singapore this weekend
CEBU, Philippines - Decorated Cebuano pedal-pusher Niño Surban returns to Singapore this weekend for the Tampines Mountainbike Cross-Country Race 1 at the Tampines trails.
Last week, Surban was also in the Lion City for a racer event where he won the super challenge, a 59-kilometer open race under the 2014 OCBC Cycle Singapore.
This Sunday, Surban will return to mountainbike action. He will showcase his riding skills under the men's elite division that deals with six laps of racing with a distance of 4.2-kilometer per lap.
Surban's Singapore stint is part of his preparations for a more demanding events in the next two months. This May, he will be in Japan for two major competitions - a UCI-sanctioned event in Yawatahama and then in Fujimi Panorama.
Afterwhich, Surban will see action in the kick-off leg of the two-phase ASEAN Mountainbike Cup Series set June 13-15 in Danao City. (FREEMAN)
