CEBU, Philippines - MJ Wagas executed the most difficult tricks with finesse to win the Class A championship of the 2nd Tisa Skateboard Competition last Sunday at the Tisa Sports Complex.
Wagas outclassed 29 other contenders to romp off with the most prestigious title of the adrenaline-pumping show organized by G Concept and backed up by Eyeberry, Positive Skateboarding and Rebel Fingerboards.
Gene Tolabing bagged the second place honors, while Margielyn Arda settled for third.
Toper, a skateboarder who prefers to be called by a single name only, shone the brighest among the 40 participants in class B. James Quillosa and Alvin Paracuellas wound up second and third, respectively.
Event organizer Jeson L. Guardo is so elated by the turnrout of entries that he plans to hold more competitions next year.
"I'm so happy that the event went on smoothly. Its success encourages me to hold at least three competitions next years to be held in different barangays around Cebu City,†said G Concept top honcho Jeson L. Guardo.
“We are promoting this kind of extreme sport to the youth as an alternative way for them to stay away from vices and spend their time doing productive things and worthwhile activities," added Guardo, who is also actively involved in airsoft.
Meanwhile, Marck Jun Bacayan led the top four performers in Rebel Fingerboard contest followed by Ron Ron Abasalo, Zuriel Rosito, and Sunjay Guardo. The exciting sidelight is co-sponsored by Dongkoi Diola and GAP. (FREEMAN)
