Tabor Hills split games

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Tabor Hills split its opening assignments to come out with two wins and the same number of losses in three separate categories of the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup, which finally kicked off after being postponed twice yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

In the girls 15 category, Tabor Hills played so aggressively resulting into a 14-0 demolition of Bright Academy, but its boys 11 counterparts started off on the wrong foot, bowing to Lahug-A via a 4-1 decision.

After a short rest though, Tabor Hills bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Warshockz, but suffered another setback at the hands of Phoenix FC, 2-1, in the boys under-13 age group.

In the under-11 games, the University of San Carlos bested the Bright Minds and Learning Village, 7-0, while Dynamo FC also made its presence felt with a 3-0 shutout of Lahug-B.

In the under-13 action, the Centre for International Education (CIE) eked out a 2-1 win over the Inayawan booters, while Warshockz Famball pulled off a 5-1 victory over the little-known Guardian Strikers.

On the other hand, the Canduman FC silenced Bright Academy, 3-0, in the under-9 division.

In the under-15 battle, the Abellana National School-Pomeroy fought to a 2-2 draw with the Mactan Camellanz, while USC-BED and CIE settled to a scoreless draw.

Prior to fighting to a draw with ANS, Mactan Camellanz came up with a 13-1 demolition of  the BMALV, while the Talisay Raskals gave St. John Seminary some neat lessons in football, 6-0.

Exciting action resumes today with total of 16 games including two in the premiere men's open division featuring CeAFC against the Avengers and Magone opposite the San Roque Rehab. (FREEMAN)
