'Fight for Reivin' charity football event at DBTC

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A total of 28 teams will see action in the “Fight for Reivin” football tournament this Sunday at the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) field in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

Twenty teams to vie for top honors in the men's division and eight in the distaff side.

Most of the entries are from the BPO sector and MEPZ companies including Convergys, Stream, IBM, Tieto, Author Solutions, Accenture, NKC, SSI, Timex, Lear, Lexmark, NCR and Leylam Shawarma.

The competition follows a seven-a-side format.

More than winning the title, the participating teams are able to help raise funds for the three-year-old Rei Vincent “Reivin” Encabo in his fight against cancer.

According to Lehmar "Ipang" Baunsit, one of the organizers, all funds raised out of this charity event will be given to Reivin for his chemotherapy sessions and other related treatments.

Aside from the registration fee, organizers welcome more donations for baby Reivin as the Cebu Football Association (CFA) pledged to give the same amount of money from the funds raised in the one-day action.

Aside from the monetary pledge, CFA has also allowed the organizers to use some of their equipment that would be useful for the tournament.

For those who want to help baby Reivin, one may call Ipang at 0923-6756780.  (FREEMAN)
