1&1 Marauders go 2-0 in CSCC E-League

EBV - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The 1&1 Marauders coasted to their second straight win at the expense of the Kyocera Frontiers, 61-49, in the continuing action of the 9th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Jan Isiah Gabest netted 15 points on top of five steals, three rebounds and three assists, while  Arnel Azarcon added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists for 1&1, which was in complete command after taking an early 15-12.

1&1 led by eight at halftime, 27-18, but Kyocera countered with a 21-14 rally in the third to pull within just a hairline, 40-41.

However, that proved to be Kyocera's last stand as 1&1 closed the match with a 20-9 blitz to come up with a 12-point romp.

Eliot Emeron Uy paced Kyocera with 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists, while Ariel Ramonito Edera finished with 11 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals, but their all-around performance went for naught.

In the other games, defending champion Stream Ingenyouity and Sykes Pioneers both won by default over ASI and Teleperformance, respectively.
