CEBU, Philippines - Cebuanos will get a chance to learn and practice skateboarding, one of the fastest growing sport in the world today.
The elite Filipino martial arts club Doce Pares, in partnership with Free Energy Cooperative, has embarked on another sporting project creating the concrete quarter-pipe for skateboarding, rollerblades and BMX.
“This is one of a kind of facility in Cebu, if not in the country today. And we look forward to adding more ramps to accommodate the extreme games practitioners,†said Doce Pares Supreme Grandmaster Diony Cañete, ODL.
Four years ago, Doce Pares started the zipline industry in the Visayas with the Cebu Zipline at the Doce Pares Mountain Training Park.
The Concrete Quarter Pipe Skate Park will be opened to the public on May 10 with the three-hour skateboarding clinic where participants will not only learn tricks but also on how to build, maintain and repair their equipment.
The participants will not only enjoy free use of Concrete Quarter Pipe but also get certificates of participation.
World-ranked skateboarders led by Joseph Falcone will conduct the skateboarding clinic.
Meanwhile, the blessing and formal oppening of the Concrete Quarter Pipe is set on May 11 at 3pm. A press conference will follow.
