Bantayan Beach Games on today
CEBU, Philippines - The 2013 Bantayan Beach Games gets underway today with the over a hundred triathletes, young and old alike, going for top honors in the three-day joust at the Sugar Beach Resort in Sta. Fe, Bantayan Island.
Today's triathlon event also serves as the finale of the three-leg I Love Cebu Triathlon Team Championship Series.
Aside from the team championships, there will also be a relay competition, a kiddie tri team battle and the super sprint.
The team and relay events will utilize a standard distance of 1.5-kilometer swim, 40km bike and 10km run, while the super sprint covers 400m swim, 10km bike and 3km run.
The kiddie race, on the other hand, involves five age-groups: 6-under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15.
Tomorrow's action features two race lengths, the 1.5km and the 5km open water swim.
The final day of the BBG will be the individual time trial and the oceanman. The ITT covers a total of 13km and is open to all interested individuals.
The oceanman will have a 200m swim and 400m run that will be done by the participants four times. (FREEMAN)
