Lemuel P. Maglinte - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - It's all systems go for the annual summer clinic of Yaw-Yan Ardigma Martial Arts Federation, Inc. set to blast  off on April 1 at the Yaw-Yan Headquarters situated at the 4th floor of Coast Pacific Downtown Center just across the UC-Main Campus along Sanciangko Street, this city.

Yaw-Yan boasts of a spacious, comfortable and above all conducive venue for the month-long training camp.

Yaw-Yan is derived from the two syllables of words “Sayaw ng Kamatayan" or "Dance of Death". It is an authentic Filipino martial arts which was first introduced to the public in 1972 by its originator Grandmaster Napoleon "Nap" A. Fernandez in a simple ceremony in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Yaw-Yan Ardigma is an all-out martial arts using the body as a weapon. It trains the students in different areas of teaching punches, kicks, head butts, elbows and knees to take down, and ground fighting techniques. It is effective in the ring as it is on the streets.

"Aside from learning the discipline of our very own Filipino martial arts, the summer clinic will be a good way for the kids to develop a high self-esteem and cultivate the power of their mind, body and spirit," said Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu CEO/Founder and Vis-Min director Master Benigno "Ekin" R. Caniga, Jr.

The courses offered include arnis, boxing fitness, Yaw-Yan combat for self-defense, Yaw-Yan ArDigma system and mixed martial arts (MMA).

For more inquiries, one may visit the Yaw-Yan gym or contact 0906-5120888, 0919-8215582 or 0932-4524999. (FREEMAN)
