Tutor stamps class, wrests 16K crown in Red Cross Run

CEBU, Philippines - After topping the women's 5K category of the Augustinian Fun Run, Christy Sevilleno-Tutor once again stole the limelight, this time in a longer course via the Red Cross Humanity Run yesterday at the Cebu Business Park.

Sevilleno-Tutor grabbed the 16K crown of the fund-raising event with the time of one hour, 13 minutes and 30.58 seconds.

Mary Jane Beboso came in second with a 1:16:16 clocking as Karla Cosep finished third in 1:18:14.

In the men's division, Kenyans Abraham Missos and Douglas Mwiti had a 1-2 finish. Missos touched down the finish line in 55 minutes and 41.75 seconds, while Mwiti clocked in 56:15.34. Adonis Singson settled for third place with the time of 56:29.59.

The Andrin sisters Lovely and Jhean also had a 1-2 finish through the women’s 8K run, posting the time 34:36.94 and 34:37.49, respectively. Lynlie Cardenas wound up third in 36:28.09.

In the men’s 8K battle, Eliud Kiplieno Leilie bagged the top spot in 26:11 followed by Francis Kakui (26:27.56) and Jobert Carolino (26:45.58).

Another Andrin, Cherry, topped the girls 4K race in 17:14.18 followed by Michelle Beboso and Irish Delechos. The top three in the boys side were Juvenile Oyao, Kevin Torremocho and John Joshua Ernane. (FREEMAN)
