Unitec sets up title duel vs. Boysen Paints in UABC hoop
CEBU, Philippines - Unitec and Boysen Paints outlasted their respetive rivals to set up a championship date in the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) Corporate Cup Season 6 at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.
Unitec whipped Durabend, 74-59, while Boysen Paints banked on the last-second heroics of topgunner Michael Cinco to frustrate Cebu Home and Builders Centre, 73-71.
Jay-R Decatoria and Chad Go pumped in 17 markers apiece for Unitec, which used a fierce second quarter assault to topple Durabend.
After a 16-all standoff, United staged a searing 27-13 run to mount a 14-point advantage at halftime, 43-29. Unitec sustained its momentum the rest of the way to come up with a 15-point romp.
In the other game, Cinco unloaded 25 points capped by a killer jumpshot with 1.4 seconds left in the contest that vaulted Boysen Paints into its first finals appearance.
Cinco was heavily backed up by team captain Josephril Partosa with 16 markers.
