Subdivision plan for Panag-abay homeowners approved
CEBU, Philippines — After three decades, the long-awaited subdivision plan for Camp Marina’s Panag-abay Homeowners Association Incorporated (HAI) has finally been approved.
Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia signed the Preliminary Approval and Locational Clearance (PALC), affirming that the lot occupied by Panag-abay HAI is owned by the Cebu City Government.
Garcia highlighted the historical significance of the property, recalling that it was acquired during the tenure of his father, former Cebu City mayor Alvin B. Garcia, over 30 years ago.
“The property for the Camp Marina Panag-abay Homeowners Association was originally bought by the Cebu City Government during the term of my father…from Villalon Properties," Garcia said.
The two-hectare property was purchased to address the city’s socialized housing needs. The recent signing of the subdivision plan underscores a generational achievement, as it was initiated during the time of the elder mayor Garcia and finalized under his son’s administration.
"I was happy to approve today the subdivision plan of the Camp Marina Panag-abay Homeowners Association, which had been pending for over 30 years,” the mayor said.
The approval of the subdivision plan is a crucial step for homeowners, enabling them to process the transfer of individual lot titles under their names.
“The approved subdivision plan will enable the association’s housing beneficiary-members to pursue the next steps of a process that will eventually result in individual titles that will now be in their names as lot owners,” the mayor explained.
In addition to approving the Panag-abay subdivision plan, Garcia held a meeting with the officers of the 93-1 lot Homeowners Association. The discussion, conducted with representatives from the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), focused on addressing concerns related to Cebu provincial lots.
Meanwhile, Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor’s technical team conducted a boundary survey last Tuesday at Lorega LOHAI in Barangay Lorega San Miguel. Like Panag-abay HA, LOHAI members and other homeowners hope to finally secure ownership of their lots. —/FPl (FREEMAN)
