CEBU, Philippines — Retired fire marshal Aderson Comar has been recalled to his original position as head of the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
Mayor Raymond Garcia, in a memorandum dated October 22, directed Comar to report back to CCDRRMO.
“For and in the exigency of public service, you are hereby recalled to your mother unit as City Government Department Head II in the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office,” read Garcia’s memo.
The memo also revoked Comar’s designation as executive director of the Prevention Restoration Order Beautification and Enhancement (PROBE) in the north district. It was known as of yesterday who will replace Comar in the PROBE.
There was also no information available as to the status of employment of CDRRMO head Harold Alcontin now that Comar has been recalled as the head of the office.
Comar said he does not know who will replace him as PROBE head nor is he aware as to the fate of Alcontin. The Freeman tried to reach Alcontin but he was not available. A source told The Freeman that Alcontin is currently on vacation leave.
Comar said that aside from doing his usual responsibilities as CDRRMO head, he also wants to continue conducting trainings on basic rescue and firefighting operations. — (FREEMAN)
