PRO-7 commits to enhance anti-criminality strategies

CEBU, Philippines — Police Regional Office-7 Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Anthony Aberin, highlighted Team PRO 7's firm commitment to enhancing its anti-criminality strategies.

In his speech during the traditional flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Aberin emphasized that illegal activities can infiltrate the community if proactive measures are not taken.

He urged the police force not to tolerate threats in the Central Visayas region and expressed their determination to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice.

Aberin also stressed the need for a holistic approach to their mission, ensuring that police efforts align with the national administration's framework.

During the program, PRO-7, in a Facebook post, stated that deserving PNP personnel with significant accomplishments were awarded certificates in recognition of their unwavering commitment and relentless efforts in the anti-criminality campaign of PRO-7.

A PNP Medal of Merit (Medalya ng Kagalingan) was awarded to PMAJ Sherwin Destora and PCpl Rojane Kenneth Celi of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit for successfully implementing a drug-bust operation in Kalunasan, Cebu City, which led to the arrest of a high-value individual.

The same award was given to PMSg Jeffrey Calderon and PCpl Roldan Cambangay for conducting a police operation in Consolacion, Cebu, resulting in the arrest of the top most wanted person from another region.

Meanwhile, a Certificate of Commendation was presented to PCOL Antonietto Cañete, City Director of Cebu City Police Office, and PCOL Percival Zorilla, Provincial Director of Cebu Police Provincial Office, for their efficient and effective supervision in implementing CPNP’s 4 Flagship Program.

They earned the titles of Best Performing City Police Office and Best Performing Provincial Office during the Performance Evaluation of PRO7, covering the period from January 1 to August 31, 2024.

Aberin congratulated the awardees and expressed his expectation that they will continue to drive the momentum in achieving the PRO’s goals of serving the community.

“As we move forward, let us remember that our unity is our greatest strength. As a strong and formidable Team PRO-7, we have the power to create a lasting impact in our community, fostering an environment where peace is nurtured and progress is inevitable,” Aberin further said. (FREEMAN)
