CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) has laid out the traffic plans for the upcoming 2024 Bar Examinations to be held at the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Basak, Cebu City starting on September 8.
Only the USJ-R has been identified as testing center in Cebu City for this year’s regional Bar exams scheduled on September 8, 11, and 15, 2024.
According to the CCTO, the traffic plan will be implemented from 2 a.m. until 7 pm on the specified dates.
For northbound vehicles, they will be directed to use the designated lanes indicated by CCTO in its traffic plan. Vehicles traveling northbound are prohibited from turning left into the USJ-R Basak Campus. Traffic cones will be placed in the center lane to prevent unauthorized access.
For southbound traffic, vehicles are to follow the green lanes and the instructions that will be provided by the traffic enforcers for any necessary diversions. The innermost right lane of the southbound road will be reserved for examinees and cannot be used by southbound traffic.
The innermost right lane, which had been marked in red, will be exclusively reserved for examinees. This lane is designed to provide smoother and more efficient access to the campus for those attending the examinations. A designated drop-off area will also be established near the campus entrance.
“This area is reserved solely for vehicles dropping off examinees. Please note that no parking will be permitted in this area,” CCTO’s advisory reads.
"No Parking" signs will be prominently placed around the campus to prevent obstruction and ensure clear vehicular movement. Parking is strictly prohibited in these designated areas.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes and trips ahead “to avoid potential delays” especially as heavy traffic are expected near the USJ-R Basak campus on the specified dates.
Acting Mayor Raymond Garcia has also ordered CCTO to dedicate resources and personnel “to ensure the smooth flow of the traffic during said examination dates”. — (FREEMAN)
