CCPO: New building to help improve service to the city

Jonnavie Villa - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has expressed gratitude to the Cebu City government for allocating P50 million for the construction of its new building that is set to start soon.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, the deputy city director for operations, said that with the new building to be constructed soon, they can provide better service to the people of the city.

“Ga-evolve ang organisasyon nato, gadaghan ang opisina and then isa pud noh nga base sa atong nakita na perspective, nindot jud kini nga establisyamento. Makahatag mi og mas maayong panerbisyo sa atong Sugbuanon,” said Rafter.

Last August 8, Acting Cebu City Mayor Raymond Garcia joined a command conference at the CCPO, wherein he announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the building would take place in September this year.

The new building will still be located within the compound of Camp Sotero Cabahug in Gorordo Avenue, Barangay Kamputhaw, behind the current CCPO edifice.

Garcia said that it's only appropriate to upgrade the facilities to further enhance the capabilities of "Cebu City’s finest."

Aside from the new CCPO building, the city government had previously supported mobility assets, firearms, and ammunition.

With this, the CCPO has committed to enforce better security for the peace and order of the city.

“Ang kinatibok-an jud sa Cebu City Police Office pinanguluhan sa atong City Director Antonietto Cañete mapasalamaton gyud kami sa tanang mga suporta nga gihatag sa atoang mayor karon, Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia,” Rafter added. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
