OBO collection up P7M for January-July of 2024

CEBU, Philippines — The Office of the Building Official (OBO) topped its collection in the first seven months of 2024 with more income generated this year than the same period last year.

OBO head Archt. Florante Catalan, in his accomplishment report for the month of July 2024, indicated that his office’s total revenue from January to July 2024 is P98,899,233.53.

It has close to P7 million-peso improvement compared to January to July 2023 that was at P92,097,551.62.

The first seven month’s revenue comes from various permit applications like building, occupancy, electrical, demolition, fencing, business, among others.

For the month of July alone, OBO was able to collect P9,875,877.77.

Catalan also said in his report that OBO has received a total of 157 applications in its One-Stop Shop for Construction Permit (OSCP) but did not elaborate anymore the nature of applications sent.

The ease of doing business especially in OBO through digitalization has helped a lot to further improve its collection, said Catalan, aside from also achieving its goal of “no gifts” policy.

Catalan earlier said, processing and issuance of permits are now “fast and efficient”.

OBO is the first office to implement the online processing of all OBO permit services and payments, which other offices in the City Hall are starting to follow, including the Human Resources and Development Office. (CEBU NEWS)
