Send-off for Palaro security on Friday

CEBU, Philippines — The send-off ceremony for those who will guard the upcoming Palarong Pambansa 2024 will be held this coming Friday at the South Road Properties Sinulog Grounds.

According to Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, the Joint Task Group of the Philippine Army, which also includes force multipliers, is among those helping to guard the event.

The CCPO has identified 33 venues for the various games of the Palarong Pambansa of which 30 will be held in Cebu City.

It is expected that approximately 12,000 athletes will arrive in Cebu, not including sports officials, VIPs, and VVIPs from various provinces.

On June 29, 2024, the police are set to conduct a walkthrough of the sports venues to see if the facilities are ready for use.

He added that they already requested more augmentation of police personnel from the city and provincial police offices.

Apart from this, Police Regional Office-7 Director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin also supported the Cebu City Police Office by sending an augmentation from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-7. — (FREEMAN)
