CEBU, Philippines — At least P10 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in separate buy-bust operations resulting in the arrest of three alleged drug personalities including a female high-value target in Cebu.

Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Station 3 of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested Dahlia Bercero Nabua, 45, Monday dawn in Sitio Front Blessed, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

Nabua, a resident of A. Lopez Street, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City, was caught selling 1,030 grams of shabu worth P7 million to an undercover  policeman during a buy-bust operation.

Police Major John Yango, Police Station 3 chief, said the suspect was already arrested in 2019 because of a warrant of arrest also for a drug case in 2006. Nabua, however, was released from jail after her motion to post bail was granted by the court.

Based on intelligence report, Nabua allegedly resumed her illegal drug operations after her release from jail. In fact, her operations even grew after she had established contacts from inside the jail.

According to Yango, Nabua is capable of selling three kilos of shabu every two weeks. She allegedly got her supply from a contact inside a jail facility in Leyte.

Nabua’s arrest has gained praises from Police Regional Office-7 director Brigadier General Anthony Aberin.

"One-by-one, we are neutralizing high-profile drug personalities in Central Visayas through the conduct of intelligence-based operations in adherence to the instructions of the CPNP and the guidance of the BIDA Program of SILG, Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr.," said Aberin.

Meanwhile, two drug suspects were also arrested by the anti-narcotics operatives of Cebu Police Provincial Office in Barangay Tomonoy, Moalboal last Sunday.

The suspect were identified as Cristoper B. Amores , 32,  a resident of Barangay Tangke 1, Naga City; and Febie B. Lusabla, 38, a resident of Barangay Mambulak, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Seized from them were 450 grams of suspected shabu worth more than P3 million.

A criminal complaint for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects. — (FREEMAN)
