CEBU, Philippines — At least P10-million worth of illegal drugs have been confiscated from an alleged high-value individual during a buy-bust operation conducted by the operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-7 in Sitio Upper Bacayan, Barangay Bacayan, Cebu City, Tuesday night, April 9, 2024.

Police identified the suspect as Carl Kenneth Tura Cabajar, 26 years old, also a resident of the said barangay. Cabajar was caught in possession of 1,500 grams of shabu worth P10. 2 million.

The suspect is allegedly a confidant of a drug personality currently imprisoned at the Cebu City Jail in Barangay Kalunasan. He was previously arrested by the operatives of Talamban Police Station in 2019 for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.

According to the police, Cabajar runs the illegal drug business of the drug personality from City Jail. The suspect, however, claimed he was just being paid to transport the illegal drugs. He said that for every successful delivery he gets P5,000.

The police said Cabajar is a known drug peddler who can dispose of three to five kilos every month. In fact, he was identified by drug suspects previously arrested by the police as their alleged supplier. — (FREEMAN)
