CCPO lauds officers behind confiscation of P17 million shabu
CEBU, Philippines — Following the confiscation of more than P17 million worth of shabu in separate operations this week, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has commended authorities who conducted the operation.
In one of the operations, the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) seized around two kilos of shabu amounting to P13.6 million from two drug personalities Monday evening at Purok 8, Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.
Separate operations were also conducted by the Inayawan Police Station on Tuesday dawn at Sitio Tugas, Cogon Pardo, Cebu City, and elements of the Mambaling Police Station at 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, wherein multiple packs of shabu were also confiscated.
The operations were in line with the police’s anti-criminality campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms, dubbed as the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, Deputy Director for Operations of CCPO, said that according to their assessment, the drugs, which came from different sources, were supposed to be distributed to the city and other nearby areas.
With this, Rafter said that CCPO city director Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, commends the CIU, Inayawan Police Station 7, and Mambaling Police Station 11 for their successful police operations and accomplishments.
She added that had it not been intercepted, it would have been harder for them to confiscate these kilos of drugs had it been distributed by grams.
"Dako gyud kaayo to nato nga accomplishment kasi lisud na kaayo ng usa ka kilo maabot sa atong kadalanan. Lisod na kaayo na balikon og kuha," she said.
Meanwhile, from January 1 to March 10 this year, the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has seized over 3.4 kilos of drugs worth P23.6 million from 385 operations conducted, and has arrested 502 drug individuals. (CEBU NEWS)
