2 bank officers nabbed for “raping” radio jock

CEBU, Philippines — Two bank officers were arrested by the police Friday, March 1, after they were accused of raping a 17-year-old grade 12 student working as a part-time disc jockey of a local FM radio station in Carcar City, Cebu.

The suspects—a bank supervisor and an account officer-- were arrested in a hot pursuit operation at 6:45 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Bolinawan, Carcar City. The Freeman withheld the names of the suspects due to the sensitive nature of the case.

The victim had sought police help at 2:00 a.m. Friday after she was allegedly raped by two bank employees. Initial information gathered by The Freeman revealed that the victim had just finished her shift on radio and was allegedly waiting for her boyfriend to fetch her outside a bank in Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City.

The suspects allegedly forced her inside the bank and took turn in violating her.  A hot pursuit operation led the police to Sitio Dunggoan, Barangay Bolinawan, where one of the suspects is residing, resulting in the arrest of the two.

The suspects are now detained at the Carcar City Police Station while criminal complaints for rape are being prepared for filing before the prosecutor’s office.(CEBU NEWS)
