CEBU, Philippines — With just a few weeks left before the summer vacation officially kicks in next month, Police

Regional Office (PRO)-7 has started the preparations for deploy of police personnel in various tourist spots to ensure a safe summer vacation.

Summer vacation will commence in March yet but the regional police office has started conducting assessment to determine the number of personnel needed to be deployed in different tourist destinations.

PRO-7 spokesperson Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare said they need to initiate the summer vacation security ahead. He said they usually initiate summer vacation security in March, but some adjustments were to be made since some schools and universities follow a different school calendar, with some opening the school year in June and July.

“We will start assessing kung kanus-a ta mag-deploy og mas daghang tawo sa mga tourist

destination based also sa flow ug sa transport sa mga tawo,” Pelare said.

flow and transport of people.)

He added that the Regional Operations Division is currently collecting data so they can make

some appropriate security adjustments for the summer vacation. This is also based on the instructions given by PRO-7 chief Brigadier General Anthony Aberin.

“Bisa’g sayo pa, we will be identifying na the possible areas of concern comes the summer

vacation 2024,” he said.

Pelare also clarified that they have not received nor monitored any threats for the

summer vacation and further assured the public that the vacation will be very safe and secure.— (FREEMAN)
