CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CPPO) is now prepping for the city’s commemoration of the 87th Cebu City Charter Day.
The Charter Day celebration will be on February 24, 2024, but kicked of last February 1, 2024, at Plaza sa Katawhan.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, Deputy Director for Operations of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), told the media in a press conference that they already conducted a meeting with the Cebu City local government for the said event.
In fact, Rafter said police personnel were already deployed in the opening event and will be there until the 25th for the nightly activities.
On the day of the Charter Day celebration,
Rafter said they will have more personnel deployed for tighter security.
“The D-Day of the Charter Day, although ang ato’ng nightly activities will be the basic deployment nato, patrol car. But definitely, on the D-Day depending on the activity, it will be a much bigger, larger security complement,” Rafter said.
Meanwhile, aside from Charter Day, the deputy director also disclosed to the media that they are also preparing for the celebration of the Chinese New Year on February 10, 2024, which will be held at the Plaza Sugbo. — (FREEMAN)
